Before You Start… Soaping Basics

What is melt and pour?

Melt and pour is a preexisting soap base used to make soap that’s ready to use immediately once fully hardened.

How do you make melt and pour soap?

Basically, you melt a preexisting soap base, add fragrance and colorants, pour it into a mold, wait for it to harden fully. And voila– you’ve got immediately usable soap!

Is it a long process?

No, not really. Once you have all of your tools the process goes pretty quickly. It honestly only takes a few hours. At most it usually takes about 4 hours for M&P(that’s short for ‘melt and pour’ yall) to fully harden.
