This summer, like many of you, I am attending a festival or two this year. (Essence Fest 2022 here I come)! I have been planning this trip for months, spent beaucoups, and now I’m just ready to have a fun time listening to awesome music, eating good food and hopefully meet cool people. I will also probably melt in the summer heat.

I have compiled a list of items that I think are must haves for festival season. There will be 10 categories that will include multiple options. Affiliate links are included.

#1 – Stadium Compliant Bags

Did you know that most stadiums and fairgrounds have strict rules about what kinds are allowed? Well, it’s true. Most bags must be clear plastic or vinyl and usually no larger than 12″x 12″x 6″ inches.

Cross-body Bags are great they allow you to be hands-free. The straps are adjustable. These are my go-to style of bag on a normal day, so it’s awesome to know that it is also an option for festivals.

Ooh, this one has pockets!

Small bags and clutches that are solid are also allowed. To see examples, click here and here.

#2- Sunscreen

If you’re going to be out and about living your best festival-going life. You’re going to need sunscreen. You know what the opposite of a good time is? Sunburn. IT IS THE WORST. :c

I’m so glad sunscreen for black and brown girls exist now. No longer are the days of looking like The Ghost of Christmas Past!

Here are some options

Here are some spray-on options and a really cool contraption to help with application. Here and here.

#3- Sunglasses

Protect your skin and your eyes! Too much Sun can cause irritation and eye strain.

So many styles. Remember, it’s a festival. Have fun with style.

#4-Lip Balm

I don’t know about you, but some of THE WORST sunburn I have ever gotten was actually on my mouth. It was terrible. I was down for the count. Please, don’t be like me.

Ooh multi-packs incase you lose one or want to share with friends! <3 Yay friends! 😀

Here are a few more. Both cute and protective. These are all listed as SPF30 or higher.

#5- First Aid Kit

Being able to mend ouchies and boo-boos is very important. Unfortunately, accidents happen. Having a small kit that includes pain meds, antiseptic, and bandages may come in clutch!

Don’t forget to bring period products as well. Click here and here for discreet bags.

Alright party people and magical unicorns alike, this is the end of part one of my Top 10 Festival Must-haves!! Part 2 will be coming soon. I am so excited about festivals and concert season. I tend to overwork myself and sometimes fee like I can’t take a break. As a millennial, in this current workforce it can be scary and frustrating. I just want to have fun.
